Vueling Airlines and the Centre for Advanced Aviation Studies (CESDA) have signed a collaboration agreement with the aim of training 16 young students as commercial aviation pilots for their subsequent incorporation into the airline, at the base of Barcelona.
This agreement is scheduled for an annual renewal of up to 5 years where 20 candidates per year will be incorporated into the training process after the second promotion.
The training consists of the accomplishment of the ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot License) course and will be carried out during a period of 24 months at the leading facilities of CESDA, the first University Training Centre for Pilots in Spain. This stage will be followed by the completion of the type A320 type rating for 8 weeks.
The initiative has the support and direct collaboration of the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat of Catalonia, by giving the use of the facilities of the Lleida-Alguaire Airport. With modern and first-class facilities and built in 2010, it is an ideal location for future pilots to practice in a real environment the flight and landing of a commercial aircraft, as well as the development of other activities and actions.
