The public company Aeroports de Catalunya has materialized the first step to turn the Lleida-Alguaire facilities into a green energy production and a key R+D+I center for the energy transition of aviation. Last January, the contract was signed with INDOX to purchase of an electrolyser, a piece of equipment that will be located at the airport and will allow green hydrogen to be produced from the existing photovoltaic park. This is in compliance with the announcement made in this regard in September 2023 by the Minister of Territory, Ester Capella i Farr\u00e9, to turn the Lleida airport into a laboratory for new aeronautical projects and the space around sustainable fuels.<\/span><\/p>\n

In October, there was a tender for the supply, installation and commissioning of a 100 Kw electrolyser that will allow green hydrogen to be produced from the current photovoltaic park. Two companies submitted to the tender and the company INDOX, a company based in Anglesola, Lleida, won the tender last December. On January 22, the contract was signed\u00a0 for a value of 295,000 euros, not including maintenance for two years, which has an additional amount of 19,000 euros.<\/span><\/p>\n

The electrolyser will be available this summer. Then the hydrogen production will be tested at the airport itself, thus completing the first milestone of the green energy hub project based on renewable hydrogen.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hydrogen can be produced from the airport’s current photovoltaic park, to be used in the developments foreseen in the aeroH2ub project, in which the Lleida-Alguaire airport participates; EVARM, which works with alternative fuels, and Aldoratech, which works on industrial applications for drones. The aeroH2ub project is also part of the development and consolidation of Lleida-Alguaire airport as a renewable energy hub.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
