Activity is increasing at Lleida-Alguaire Airport. Last week, Buildair inflated its hangar on the airport platform, and this week works are being put out to extend the same platform for aircraft parking. The works consist of paving different areas in front of the platform and the airport terminal and has a 589.00€ budget and the works will last for 3 months. With these works, it will be possible to expand the airport’s offer to companies that want to park their aircrafts for maintenance or other activities.

Throughout the confinement period the airport has been open, with mandatory services activated, such as: air navigation, security, maintenance of infrastructure and facilities, cleaning, firefighters … the airport has been working to implement a safe workspace for both workers and companies, following all the recommendations of the EASA (European Union Aviation Safety Agency). As a result, a number of internal action protocols and access to the infrastructure have been modified.

The implementation of these biosecurity measures in the infrastructure has been a decisive element in the return to activity of BAA Training. Both the management and the instructors and a first contingent of students, who were within the Spanish territory, have already joined the activity.

From July 3, the Air Nostrum activity returns to the airport with flights to Palma de Mallorca, on Fridays and Sundays. The modification of security protocols will make this a safe airport for passengers who want to go to Palma de Mallorca this summer.

On the other hand, the restaurant of the Lleida airport, which has been closed since March 14, has reopened this first week of June taking security measures in terms of distances between people and capacity of the restaurant under the control of the airport infrastructure.
