Aeroports tenders for the construction of an aeronautical training centre and a residence in Lleida-Alguaire, the new facilities will have a total of 3,000 m2 and will be located in the Campus area.

Aeroports de Catalunya has tendered for 6 MEUR the construction of two new buildings at Lleida-Alguaire airport to house a training centre for airplane pilots and a residence with capacity for 140 students. These are two modular buildings, of 2,500 m2 and 500 m2 respectively, which can be dismantled, relocated, reconfigured and sold. The tender includes the design, manufacture, transport and assembly.

At the same time, tenders have also been opened for the management and use of the two buildings based on a 10-year lease that can be extended to an additional 5 years. The annual income of these facilities will be around 400,000 euros. In Lleida-Alguaire the income from renting hangars and buildings multiplied by 5 in 2023.

The new facilities will complete the Airport Campus space, where there are already two buildings leased, respectively, by Compost el Segrià, which is developing a project related to satellite control of plants in remote areas, and by the Lithuanian pilot training school BAA, which carries out its teaching and flight management and planning activities there.

This is an operation to respond to the growing number of requests for space and training activities. With these tenders, Lleida-Alguaire Airport continues its trajectory of growth and diversification of activity, a fact that is reflected in the growing number of established companies, in the number of workers and in the number of training students, among others. The strategy is to continue deepening diversification, betting on the training of pilots, but also on its drone center and on the development of the green energy hub that will already have green hydrogen this summer.
